East Central Ministries is a community living out Jesus' values of justice and compassion with our marginalized neighbors in Albuquerque's International District.

We are. . .

A Community . . . thinking of the group instead of ME; living and working together
Building relationships rooted in equality, involving commitment to one another, support, and
sharing

Inviting. . . earthy, human, thoughtful, and sometimes ridiculous
putting oneself in the other guys’ shoes, learning from past mistakes
practicing intentional communication, letting go of control, recognizing our fears and egos

On the fringes . . . as immigrants, by language, disability or age, lifestyle or worldview

Collaborative . . . birthed from a local church and wedded to the La Mesa/Trumbull
neighborhoods
partnering with individuals, non-profits, entrepreneurs, schools, neighbors, and churches

Inclusive . . . Followers of Jesus striving to love him and our neighbors in the midst of a
tragically broken world

Conspiring . . . against systems that hold people down, doing it on the edges or fringes of
society
“plotting goodness” through imagining creative possibilities
people talking about this, that, and the other as we try to live authentically

Creatively Pragmatic . . .  imaginative yet commonsense solutions to societal problems

**Our goal is that everyone who observes our small and often flawed demonstration of life together will be encouraged to create their own beautiful demonstrations in their communities.**
